South Sudan Medical Mission works alongside communities and local leaders to bring hope and healing in the name of Jesus. Based in Greater Kapoeta, we help families access healthcare through our clinic, community programs, and medical outreach.

Mission Hospital
Nyakica Medical Centre is our first practical step towards a Christ-centred mission hospital for Greater Kapoeta. Our vision is to expand access to maternal and child healthcare, emergency care, and essential surgery.

Deliver outpatient care through Nyakica Medical Centre, provide laboratory services, and continue our community programs.
THE FOUNDATION
Plan for lasting service
Approximately 50,000 m² of land has been secured for the hospital vision. Development will be phased as partnerships and resources grow.

Develop maternal and child services, emergency care, and essential surgical care. These are planned hospital services.

Early 2025
Cholera outbreak response
In partnership with the County Health Departments in Kapoeta South and Kapoeta North, we provided medicines and supplies, trained community health workers, established oral rehydration points in hotspots, and conducted community awareness campaigns.
40 birth attendants trained
Supporting safer motherhood
We trained 40 traditional birth attendants across Kapoeta South and Kapoeta North.
School health
Health knowledge for young people
We taught schoolchildren about sexual and reproductive health and rights, including STIs, HIV/AIDS, and menstrual hygiene, and distributed sanitary pads.

Women’s economic empowerment
We trained 40 women in soap making.

We conducted hygiene training and awareness activities in villages across Kapoeta East, Kapoeta South, and Kapoeta North.
