OUR STORY

A local calling.
A shared commitment.

Our story began with three Toposa medical students from Kapoeta: Lobai Thomas Lowi, Lonok Emmanuel Lokai, and Lotyam Alexander Lokirimor. Led by Lobai, they shared a commitment to serve their communities through healthcare rooted in Christian compassion.

That commitment has grown into South Sudan Medical Mission. Working alongside communities, churches, and county health departments, we have provided medical outreach, health education, TB follow-up, and support during disease outbreaks across Greater Kapoeta.

Nyakica Medical Centre brings this work into a permanent place of care in Kapoeta. Alongside our community programs, the clinic provides outpatient consultations and treatment, with an operational laboratory serving patients. It is our first practical step towards the planned Kapoeta Surgical Mission Hospital.

WHY WE SERVE

Our mission and vision

Our mission

To serve and transform unreached communities in South Sudan and East Africa through subsidised healthcare, training, education, and the development of mobile surgical services. Centred on Jesus Christ, we work alongside communities, local leaders, government health services, churches, and medical teams to bring hope, love, and compassionate care.

Our vision

To bring hope and healing to unreached communities in Greater Kapoeta and across East Africa, transforming lives holistically with Christ at the centre.

Our motto: HEALING NATIONS

LOOKING AHEAD

From clinic care to a mission hospital.

Our long-term vision is Kapoeta Surgical Mission Hospital, expanding access to maternal and child healthcare, emergency care, and essential surgery. Nyakica Medical Centre is the first step, with further development planned in phases as partnerships and resources grow.
